while I first encounter left me wanting more. The team remedied the issue in record time.
Within 30 min of the cancellation, I received a message from the owner who 1. Explained the miscommunication— the concierge had not consulted her prior to scheduling with me, causing a scheduling conflict and 2. Promptly cleared her schedule to speak to me.

The call with her was very informative and clear. She articulated the process and all potential eventualities. On price she was transparent and clear. Additionally it was followed up with documentation.

She understood clearly the importance of communication and transparency in regards to sensitive emotion matters like surrogacy and family planning. And I greatly appreciate her prompt response in remediating the situation and creating a good customer experience.

These behaviors have instilled my confidence in Afrigha and the potential to use them.

Initial contact: I scheduled a meeting with them to talk about the options and costs ( as not much information is online) they chose a time and I followed up. The day of they cancelled- after I reached out to confirm. While upset I was open to the reschedule. They rescheduled for the next day and then that morning also told me it needed to be postponed. No reason.

In an industry like this, customer service and communication is key, and they failed to do the most basic level of communication. I’m very disappointed.

My wife and I are so happy to have meet Akosua and her team. We have gone through several agencies and we just love how transparent they are. I was able to visit my surrogate at the surrogacy home and I was having contact with her throughout our journey.

Afrigha gives a payment plan and gives you updates about the pregnancy. They also have midwives who make sure that the surrogates are all well taking care off.

Please when I complained about the food, nothing was done. I called Akosua and Mr. Brown, but my concerns were dismissed. Later, I messaged an intended parent and made a threat, which led to Akosua becoming angry and insulting me. She later asked me to apologize to the intended parent, which I did to maintain peace.
"The cook was changed after I left the Surrogate house

After delivering, I was asked to leave the surrogate house and I did but before I left I blocked and deleted all their contacts. Later, I worked with minute hospital as an agent and created a WhatsApp group and shared the group link on social media for people to join. Akosua joined the group with a different number, and I welcomed her, asking her not to cause any problems. However, some group members received Afrigha flyers, and I questioned Akosua about it. She claimed she didn't send them and proposed working with me as an agent.

We agreed, but she didn't provide a contract. Despite broken agreements, I continued working with them. One surrogate got pregnant,Weeks later the surrogate was taken to the hospital, and the doctor recommended terminating the pregnancy. I asked about compensation, and initially, they said it would depend on the pregnancy's stage. However, a worker later told the surrogate there would be no compensation.

For confirmation I called the worker and spoke with him and he made the same statement that she wasn't getting anything we had a heated argument. I told him they were wicked because even those who fail the procedure receive compensation of 500 cedis.I questioned if the blighted ovum was her fault and he said it wasn't their fault either.It was sad because this lady stayed in Surrogate house for almost 3 months and was leaving with an empty handed

Eventually, they agreed to compensate the Surrogate with 1,000 Ghana cedis. After the surrogate left the house she experienced abnormal bleeding for more than one week before she was sent to hospital for womb washing

"During that time, another surrogate was on medication and scheduled for an embryo transfer. I called her and asked if she could cancel the procedure if it wasn't too late. She asked why, and I explained the situation. She replied that her transfer was scheduled in 30 minutes, and I said okay. Later that evening, she informed Akosua, who called me to discuss it. I admitted to advising the surrogate to cancel and explained it was due to concerns from Suzzy's case. Akosua seemed to understand."

Later, someone informed me that Afrigha was making allegations against me. When I texted Akosua, she denied involvement and tried shifting blame on Mr. Brown, claiming she was out of the country and would investigate upon her return

"When Akosua came, she called me and threatened to serve me a defamatory letter from her lawyer, claiming I'd damaged Afrigha's reputation. I asked about my offense, and she said she was told that I'd been fermenting negativity about her company. She claimed the lady whose pregnancy was terminated had also convinced other surrogates to go to a minute hospital and even threatened to serve her a defamatory letter too,which wasn't true. I asked for evidence and she passed the phone to one of her workers, but the person she passed the phone to couldn't provide any, citing hearsay.

"I asked Akosua why I would falsely accuse the company, and she suggested it might be because of my friendship with Mr. Brown, implying that he had paid me to do so.

"They also accused me of hiring the lady, whose pregnancy was terminated, to persuade others to go to a minute hospital

I advised another surrogate to quit due to concerns about Afrigha's treatment of the first surrogate. It's clear the lady's "crime" was reporting the incident to Mr. Brown. I've reflected on this situation, and it's evident that we, the victims, are being blamed. You know the lady didn't do anything wrong, and I'm confident I've never defamed Afrigha's name despite everything that happened when I was there, Threatening me won't silence me; the truth will come out.

After a lot of difficult experiences with finding surrogacy in other parts of the world I finally came upon Ghana as option. I reached out to Afrigha.
I was drawn by the attractive price and immediate availability.
The initial consult was very clear and the process moved very fast. A surrogate and egg donor were available immediately and within 6 weeks we had the first transfer that stuck.
and our baby was born this past May.
Pros of the program:
The cost is one of the most affordable out there, and the surrogates and egg donors are available very soon.
You do the payments in small installments. There is no large deposit to start.
The surrogates are dedicated full time to the journey and live in a house monitored by a midwife and nurses.
Dr Emmanuel is very experienced and very easy to ask questions. He was the head of the Accra Greater Regional hospital in the past.
It’s easy to find good safe accommodation in Accra.
Nanny services are offered at a good price to help you in the process.

The approval from the Ghana gov is taken care of for you. You don't need to have contact with any Ghana gov Immigration officials. The agency takes care of that for you. The approval and birth certificate from the Ghana side is easy.

The Cons and Challenges:
The Hospital facility is not up to the Western Standard. Our room didn’t have running water yet. If you are expecting European or American standard medical facilities, be prepared it will not be close to that.
The birth certificate took a week to get. Although I heard other countries with surrogacy take several weeks or longer.
Accra has many amenities but its crowded and traffic is bad. Its not close to Western infrastructure.
The US embassy does make the process longer as you will need a DNA test and have to ship the kit to the embassy and then the embassy has to ship it back to the USA. The time from the Embassy appointment to getting an Emergency passport can take 3-4 weeks.

The whole surrogacy process is very transparent and well structured. You are picked up at the beginning, taken along and always informed about what is going on. They are very responsive to the wishes of the intended parents and ensure that everything runs smoothly. For example, the official birth certificate was there in no time at all.
